Overboard Lyrics – Madds Buckley

This couch carried me from Chicago
And now it's your bed for the week
What I say might ruin tomorrow
Either way I'm not getting any sleep

So I'm stepping out on the edge here
Hoping you'll reach back out
An off white ceiling, looks more appealing than letting you down
If the water's coming in
Am I gonna sink or swim?

I'm poking holes that I shouldn't, saying things that I wouldn't
(Going overboard)
No going back after this, I'm going down with this ship
(Going overboard)
Wish I wasn't sober 'cause that would shut me up
Spillin' words I've rehearsed but I'm still choking up
I'm going overboard or under

I thought if I could ignore it, I could wait out the storm
The salt in my eyes, the pull of the tide
The crash of the shore
When the water's coming in
Am I gonna sink or swim?

I'm poking holes that I shouldn't, saying things that I wouldn't
(Going overboard)
No going back after this, I'm going down with this ship
(Going overboard)
Wish I wasn't sober 'cause that would shut me up
Spillin' words I've rehearsed but I'm still choking up
I'm going overboard or under

Tipping point, made my choice
If it weighs me down, spit it out
Reel it in, sink or swim
Anchor up, had enough

I'm poking holes that I shouldn't, saying things that I wouldn't
No going back after this, I'm going down with this ship

(Wish I wasn't sober)
I'm poking holes that I shouldn't, saying things that I wouldn't
(Going overboard)
No going back after this, I'm going down with this ship
(Going overboard)
Wish I wasn't sober 'cause that would shut me up
Spillin' words I've rehearsed but I'm still choking
I'm going over
Over, under, over
Overboard or under
