Concept Without Proof Lyrics – Madds Buckley

Another day, another song
Singing in the same key
Another post noon morning, still not me
Another try, another pad of paper to the trash
Another sigh, how much more can soon last?
Days blend in one pretend semester I haven't been in in years
How did I end up here?

Nothing's fitting together, I'm not getting better
If I'm a mess in progress, without the time to change
Oh, I'm screwed
Concept without proof

Another day, another start
I'm stalling
If I backslide any more I'd just be falling
I'm not making sense but I'm confident
My judgement's through the floor
I don't know me anymore

And every wick's burning more and more off center
Just another swing another miss from this one hit wonder
I do one thing right when I don't mean it
Every try is more defeating
And the candle stings

Nothing's fitting together
And I'm not getting better
If I'm a mess in progress
Without the time to change
Oh, I'm screwed
Concept without proof

This isn't who I used to be
(Schematics with some missing parts)
Not just an idea that I don't believe in
(I fail before I even start)
I'm splitting at the seams
And running out of thread
One more draft, one more path, one dead end

Nothing's fitting together
I'm not getting better
Nothing's fitting together
And I'm not getting better
Nothing's fitting together
I'm not getting better
If I'm a mess in progress
Without the time to change
Oh, I'm screwed
Just a fluke
Concept without proof
