Talking with Greg James in an interview for BBC Radio 1 on the 23rd of January, 2026, Harry Styles told that "Aperture" was written when the album it belongs to was almost done. He shared, "...getting this song at the end, it was kind of when we were feeling like our freest and just really like having a lot of fun at that point and it kind of felt like oh almost like the mission statement of what the album was about. [...] And then when this song happened, it was like, 'Oh, the record's finished.' Um, so it's always been like a real like celebration song for me."
